Push-feed vs CRF

i didnt buy a win since the mid 90s push feed because i thought their switch to crf was a gimmick and still think so. i recently bought a win alaskan 30 06 because it is a type of gun i really want. the gimmicky crf works very nice and it even doesnt want to chamber a round if you dont put it into the magazine like a crf should although you can jam it in there if you push hard enough. so i still think its a gimmick and am leery of the unnecessary weak and dangerous point but it works well nicer than my cz 550. oh and my pf has integral recoil lug and so do others whats that got to do with it.

Oh FFS... They are both reliable 99.9% of the time. Pick your rifle as it suits you and don't feel you need to defend your logic to the death on some internet forum.
Some good FACTS have been presented in this thread but most of it is anecdotal BS.
If ever a thread should be locked, this is it.

Facts have been presented from one side. No one is saying both actions can't be entirely reliable, but the question was which one might actually be better. One side has said why they think theirs is the other has said they read there's was on Google.

I agree with everything you just said...I just don't think we will ever make any progress. More and more biased opinions... When I read things like CFR is a "gimmick" I just throw my hands up and say enough.
Let them think whatever they want... Everyone... On all sides. Let's just kill this miserable thread before it gets any worse.

Huh?

Why you trivialize this crucial & timely debate is beyond me.

Cuzz I really don't care one way or the other.
I have both and they work just fine.
Just need to remember who's who and what's what when loading.
This thread is like ginch.
Who wears the typical ones and who wears boxers?
Both leave the normal marks where they need to be found........aye?

Your writing style is similar to a smashed 'naner. It looks nothing like the original state, but we can still tell what it kinda is.....:D

It's not his fault that his dad is his uncle and his mom is his aunt!!! Lol j/k Looky!!!!

Don't put me in the same fudd category as ol' SC. You wanna get together and share crayons some time?

Now, this thread is getting some where:
Do you have any vintage Crayola Indian Red? Rudolph's nose isn't the same these days without it. Bloody political correctness messing with my scribblin'...

The difference is 'looky, old eagleye knew it was a foolish exercise just pondering it.....you had to take a "loooeeeville" for a walk by the Thompson and try it for yerself a couple times to figure it out! Haha!

Do you know how to parse a sentence; structure paragraphs? How the hell is somebody supposed to make sense of whatever the hell it is that you just wrote!?

I think he said "I was supect of the classic action that Winchester released in the 90's to replace the poorly though out and underselling PF version on the model 70 that had languished from 1964 until then. Even though the classic was back by popular demand and sales increased afterward, I just adjusted my tinfoil hat and ignored the facts to prove my presupposition that it was a marketing scheme is true. Recently I decided that when desire for instant gratification for something I judged unreasonably is more important than sticking to my unsupported position, and I bought one. And now I believe I am right because of my inability to function simple mechanical equipment and this damn rifle won't receive or feed cartridges backward out of the box magazine due to the fact that the classic action design is just a sales gimmick."

I may have had to paraphrase most of that due to the fact the most of what he said was fricken garbledigook. You work with what you have though.

There are lots of good CRF's and pushfeeds out there.

Sako, Remington, Ruger (mk 1), Vanguard, Howa, Oh and the Winchester post 64 all examples of good pushfeeds. I had a post 64 Winnie in 06 for 30 years. Shot good and fed fine.

CRF's Winchester Classics, CZ's, BRNO's, Mauser, Ruger mk 2's, Zastavia's, etc. All are good rifles.

I do have a preference for CRF's but it is a free country the last time I checked.

Shoot what you want but shoot it well.

Not sure where the porpoise is coming from, from my perspective the classic is an improvement on the pre 64 due to the gas venting feature and a few other subtle improvements - nothing gimmicky about it, one of the better improved 98 actions.
