Keep the wood on the gun, and sell the craptical junk for whatever you can get for it.

I hunt over hounds in thick thorn patches and Pines. I find an 18.5" dual gripped gun very easy to thru the bush and the short over all length is nice when dealing with the dogs. I've never had any problems with recoil or recovery and do well with skeet doubles. There's a few members here that have seen me break 23-24s in skeet when I had mine. It's different but very doable

I bet it looks like a dog @#$*in a football shooting clays with a pistol grip.
