Putting a sako/tikka style bolt stop on a M700

I have a few custom M700 rifles but the one feature I really dislike about them is the factory bolt stop in the trigger guard. Is it very difficult for most smiths to modify the action to put in a bolt stop like what is seen on tikka and sako rifles? I much prefer this setup and feel it would really help finish off my rifles. Does this setup come with any disadvantages?

I would venture the only disadvantage would be if the quality of the work to convert it was poor... it would always look poor. Done correctly it looks fine and works fine.
