ive decided to get a second .22 because the one i have was my grandfathers and i want to use it as little as possible. .22s are so cheap im not hesitating buying a brand new one to mess around with.

ive come to two options. one is just to get a plain jane semi auto .22, in particular a marlin semi auto with iron sights and its something like $140 on SIR.

the other half of me is leaning to putting together a varmint/semi-precision .22 with a scope and bipod.

problem is of the big canadian sites (lebaron, SIR, wholesale) none of them have bipods listed, and none have all the combo of parts i want in one place (rifle, scope, bipod) on one site. i want to order all from one to save on shipping.

what do you guys reccommend. im even considereing ordering one of those savage package deals but i cant find a canadian site who carries them.

i think thats everyything i need to make the package work. am i missing anything? the rings that some with the scope should screw right on to the rifle, correct?

you'll find 10/22 has the most options available in all goodies to assemble the configuration you want.

as far as wholesale etc. order their catalogues, you'll find what you want as far as bipods etc.i just purchased a rockmount for my 10/22 ,it mounts to the swivel.

the ruger has a very well built receiver which is one reason why it is the most popular 22 out there.

of course, everyones tastes are different, the marlin is also very accurate in heavy barrel version and unlike the 10/22 it has a hold open device on the last shot.

But dry firing isn't bad for a 10/22.

So the last shot hold open only means that you can't pull the trigger when the mag is empty. With the 10/22 you get a click.

My Rem 522 viper is last shot hold open. But I haven't shot it in years, the 10/22 is way better.
