So... I've got a bunch of upgrades on the way to my front door.

I'm shooting a 870 express - it's currently got a bead sight on the barrel.

I'm looking to get a better sighting system. Looking towards a replacement for the stock bead sight. I have 150 dollars to play with. Total.

Suggestions?

I think Casey at TacOrd might have something that would work, or you could try to find someone that sells XS Sight Systems, like Leg mentioned. Are you planning on actually keeping a bead-style front sight, or are you considering something like a ghost ring setup that use the original bead mount? When I bought my shotgun, it came with a little fiber-optic "bead" instead of a standard brass one. No idea where it came from, and I've not really compared it to a standard bead, but it does serve to catch a bit of light.

This is a "shot in the dark", but have you considered looking at replacement handgun sights? I believe the Glocks and Sig-Sauers have replaceable front sights, and you can get them in the standard blade, fiber-optic, and tritium styles. Perhaps one of them uses a screw-in front sight or something similar that might work. Again, I don't own either, and I've never really bothered looking into it, but it might be a possibility if nothing else strikes your fancy.

XS Big Dot tritium front sight from Brownells. Epoxies over existing bead.
