I assume this question has already been asked but I can't seem to find a thread on it.
Will these mags function decently with .223 or 5.56 NATO in them?

After the spring seated in i am able to get 15 in, no wait i can only fit 5 beowulf yeah thats what i meant!

Hypothetically speaking, if one were to put a different caliber ammo in these magazine's...say, I dunno. .223/ 5.56...how many rounds would fit?...hypothetically of course. :p

The law states that this mag is designed for .50 beo and thats why it is marked 5 rounds. There is no law against cramming another calibur in there. If i could fit 10,000 rounds of .22 LR in this mag its still legal. No hypotheticals needed it is what it is, the law is black and white.

^^^This, people need to stop tip toeing around this issue like they are doing something wrong, it is 100% legal, no and's, if's or but's about it.

^^^ Mostly agree.

While I don't find that they look hideous, in fact I am OK with the look, I think they would do well to market a different version that on the inside is identical, but on the outside has the same (or similar) outside dimensions as a standard 30-round mag. Heck, give it a P-Mag bottom so you attach ranger plates too. That way they would handle and fill up ammo pouches just like a 30 rounder would, and yet still be natively a 5-round 50 beowulf design.

Stick a rubber Magpul on them. It covers up pretty much the whole visible part when they're seated in the rifle, for those who don't like the esthetics.

You can always buy the AA beowulf mags that are identical to 30 round AR mags for $100-150 each.

I picked up four of the PVC-50 mags for 3 gun competitions they work great. They drop free and lock the bolt back on the last round on my Daniel defense m4mk7. I could fit 14 rounds in the PVC-50 second gen mags, you can fit 15 in them but they will not feed in my AR15 at that capacity.
