As the incorrect buffer material did not have the same recoil dampening properties as the original - it is unlikely that you will be able to tell a difference at all - which is one of the primary reasons we chose to remove it.

I think the bigger question is why did they (up until this point) even bother.

Probably now not only to save costs but to eliminate hassles in the future.
