I've been thinking of buying one and am wondering if anyone has shot it, what your thoughts are, do you like the double action trigger, hows the recoil/accuracy, any complaints do you like the action (rotating barrel lock).
Any advice/comments about the gun would be nice even if you think the thing is a POS I want to hear it.

We have a 9mm PX4 as a range gun at Wild West. It's DA/SA. A real solid little gun. It has seen tens-of-thousands of rounds. Rarely any FTE/FTF (unless noob shooter with a weak wrist). The finish shows wear, but then agaiin, so would any gun that has seen this many rounds.

Generally speaking...DAO triggers take time to get used to (unless that's all your used to). I own a Sig 226 DAK in .40S&W. I'm very unhappy at my lack of ability to adapt to the DAO/Dak Sig (when compared to a 1911 or any other DA/SA ).

Make sure it fits your hand. Not able to mod grips unless you use slide-on rubber grip.

I have fired about 4000 rounds through mine. The DAO trigger is not something I would recommend. Some will argue that your accuracy will be the same regardless of the trigger however, having to pull the 9.9 pounds for each shot makes it harder to steady the pistol between shots. I found it just as accurate as the M&P but you have to take a little longer between shots to regain your sight picture.
It maybe the easiest pistol to field strip, a + here. Unless you have a large pistol collection and are looking for a rare piece I would look at something else. An HK would be a far better investment for the money, or you could save $400 and buy the M&P which is a better pistol.
I found the M&P had the nicest trigger I have shot.
But if you buy the Beretta I have a nice holster for the PX4 that I will give you a good deal on:)

Edit- The mags don't like being dropped so be careful if you are dropping mags and reloading on the fly.

How long is that trigger pull Blackwatch I've read the 9.9 pd trigger weight, I use my G17 for IDPA but I have an M&P in 40 I use once in a while as well, I just like to have some variety and thought the DAO trigger PX4 may be nice to shoot in the SSP class, I've played with the DA/SA and it seemed to fit my hand real nice, I just don't want to order the DAO and find out I don't like the heavy trigger.
