Just a heads up if anyone is feeling too rich and needs to lighten their wallet. ;)

There is a Double Diamond 150th Anniversary Python (BPSS) in the next Switzer auction. Represented as unfired, box included. The pre auction online bidding was at $3000 last time I looked.

FOC had one that was $11k. Don’t know what it sold for. Don’t think it had a box or manual.

Edit: don’t forget about the hammer fees/tax too. Hold on to your ankles lol

Will be interesting to see what it fetches. It was originally sold with a matching prohib officer model 1911 i believe so curious to what actual value the market puts on it.

There is a set (#8 of 150) with case, papers etc on Gunbroker for a starting bid of $12,750. I believe they made 150 sets with the 6" Python and the 3.5" Officer's model 1911.

edit

I was wrong. According to Rock Island Auctions they made 1,000. Here is the sale result of set #781 sold last September.

The auction was last September. These complete sets fetch between $7k-$8k at US auction depending on condition. Can’t believe that a split up Python would fetch over $5k-$6k up here.

One of 1000....hmmmm. Makes me think I got a steal on my Alberta Python. One of one, from set of 12 province and territory guns. Yep. It's a keeper.

Methinks there is a method to his madness.:)

No, I have no vested interest in this sale. I do own a Python (sadly not a BPSS or other particularly rare model) and I'm always interested in values of all types of guns. One of the difficulties I find in valuing guns in Canada is that we don't have sites like Gunbroker or RIA where you can see what things actually sold for.
