Python market price - Blued, 6 inch

Hi Gentlemen,
Really need some help from python guru(s). What's fair price for a 6 inch python(blued) now? It has been fired and I can see drag line on its cylinder. Blue is 95-98 percent left. Only few scratches, if you look really carefully with a flashlight. Lost manual and box.

I thought it should be 2K ish, somewhere around 1800-2200. what confused me is, there're several listed in EE for 3K+ right now, even have two listed for 4K+:confused:... those are not getting sold of course.
Any useful info will be great appreciate,

yep, has the original Colt wood stock. 'horse' logos are there on both sides
Front sidght is plain black. But it's partly marked with some chalk/pen/wax, for easy aiming. I suppose it should be easily removed to remove with gun solvent.

Python prices have been all over the place for the last few years. For what you describe, the current range is probably between $2500-$3000.

But I could be wrong because there is no fair market value with Pythons since it depends on what sellers are asking and how bad someone wants it. Condition, finish, bbl length, caliber, grips, original packaging/contents all contribute to increase in value. I know that my response is nebulous but so is the prices of Pythons. Prices of Anacondas, that’s another story...

Hard to say without seeing it but from the description I'd put that era Python around 2500-/+ . Harry C will know but I think that is in the era when production was quite high.

They used several different letter prefixes in the serial numbers during 1980. Total production for that year was much higher.

I stand corrected, I should have said in that "AL" range they made ..... so all said it was almost a record manufacturing year which means there was low likely hood that a true "MASTER Craftsman" made that unit. ; (

Thanks for posting that. I just found that mine is a 1979 manufacture. About 51000 made that year. Want to try to pick up a 1971 manufacture. My birth year.

What bigi said. Close to 60k Pythons were manufactured in 1980... they were pumping these at an astronomical pace.

Had that, great gopher gun, but as usual, sold when they where cheap. I seem to remember buying as new for 750.oo and a 22 rifle of some kind.
Also had the Anaconda in 45LC, never really liked that gun.
I had a spare colt scope and mount for years, it disappeared in the 1990's
Funny I remember all that, but can't remember why I went to town ,till the wife asks where the damn milk is, But I don't forget chips.
