I'm trying to figure out what mods I can do to my Glock 35 for shooting IPSC / Standard division. I found enough information to know that compensators and optics are not permitted and there is no minimum trigger pull weight. Of course the gun must fit inside the specified box, which it will as I won't be changing any dimensions. Is everything else fair game (springs, mag wells, extended mag release, grips, etc.)?

I used to shoot a 35 in standard. tungsten guide rod. bronze magwell. trigger bars springs...everything! shoots like a dream after

the glock 35 is a fine choice, but you will have to shell out some dough to be cometetive with it, remember, you are shooting versus some pretty good gear, ie sti, tanfoglio's etc etc.. i would go with a competition spring kit, (lighter striker spring, lighter saftety plunger spring, competition return spring, a stainless or tungsten recoil spring, combined with a recoil spring suitable for your loads... a mag well will help with the finiky stumpy glock magazines. you allready have a great disconector. You might opt for a match barrell if you care for a tighter chamber and better long range accuracy. I would also go with nice sites, like heinie blacked out rears and a nice sharp fiber optic front.

btw, by the time you get all of these parts, you are looking at 1200 dollars combined minimum, which is getting into the expensive category

Good to know that anything I do (excl. optics or barrel porting) is legal. Cost is not a major deterrent for me, but I'm as frugal as the next guy. I've already swapped out the sights for a set of Warren Tactical Sevigny Comp's with fiber optic (same as on my G17 - love them!). I plan to do a tungsten guide rod, comp springs and a modest mag well as soon as I can get 'em and run it as much as I can before doing anything else. Thanks guys!

yep, a friend of mine just completed the black badge course with the plain crappy sights that come with glock and grip tape as the only mods. He shot really well with it, but then again, he has a few thousand rounds on that gun alone allready

I run my G35 absolutely standard and while all those mods sound nice I doubt if they will give you any advantage except for trigger and sights. I will rather spend extra money on ammo and range time. The glocks trigger needs a good amount of shooting to get used to and to shoot really fast and accurate. Put 200-400 rounds through your glock every week and you will be amazed at how your shooting improves.
