I want to order some goodies direct from DAA in Netherlands. They actually show FREE shipping via Airmail (hard to believe) but I want to make sure I wont get slammed with any crazy import/duty/tax etc. charges at the door. Has anyone ordered direct from DAA? How was your experience in regards to cost?

I've ordered from them a couple of times and got hit with duties and taxes both times. It's luck of the draw. Good service and quick shipping from DAA though.

I to have found CBSA to be somewhat whimsical with no rhyme or reason as to what they tax and impose duty on.

I ordered some items and they floated through, ordered same items again but for a different pistol and they got me with duty. I know there are laws and guidelines in respect to this sort of thing but still no consistency in enforcement. Location of where the order comes from does definatly seem to have an effect though.

Where you order from makes no difference for packages coming in via canada post. CBSA will choose to tax you or not based on what that particular officer had for breakfast that morning. Or how well they slept the night before.

Less ITAR,....Bullsh*t from anywhere other than the US
Less chance of being called in to "pick up your package" (inspection, explanation, pay.. pay.. pay)
Almost everything from the US with the exception of SSI has been a pain in the a$$

You are absolutely correct about the agent's wrath of his bad breakfast, or side of bed he crawled out of. CBSA agents are by far the most ignorant, make up sh*t as they go group I have ever had the dis-pleasure of dealing with. Certainly a black eye on law enforcement for sure. Always have whatever law, legislation, documentation printed out and ready when you got to go see them.

All my orders from DAA have been taxed and duty added.
Ordered on monday again from them, should be here next week. Maybe this time they will let it go....

I have ordered twice from them and both were hit pretty hard with tax and duties (we don't have a free trade agreement yet with the Netherlands).

First order was a Mr. Bulletfeeder with all the trimmings.

Second order was a Shotmaxx.

We are now stocking many of the popular items from DAA so you can see you can calculate your total delivered price right off our web site. We don't have everything they sell but we can bring in items we don't normally carry with our stock orders.

As people have said, Canada Customs is really inconsistent with how they charge duty and taxes so you never know what you will end up with.
