Co-worker picked up a JR in .40 SW.

I have to say I was a skeptic in the beginning, but never handled one.

Too say the least I was impressed and have been thinking of the rifle all day.

Question for you guys is what end plate are you using for a sling, or what are you using for a single point set up?

We had a couple plates to look at but the dimple in the plate, and hole in the receiver are a bit different.

I say just grind the new sling plate on the back, but he'd rather not.

I swear by Troy Industries, so I offered the buffer tube clamp on style sling point.

Vcas sling, Cadex mini rail mount sling point and push button QR swivel. Shout out to One Shot Tactical for the parts! This setup works great for me.

I just slinged mine. I heard from my dad that the single point system they used in err was a pain in the butt and heavy on the neck. So I slinged mine with a magnpul and attached it to the right side of the stock so it is not in the way when shooting. I do have to change the charging handle to the other side as it now digs into the chest.

Rifleman.

I have found that the charging handle digs in as well. I would have liked to have the charging handle opposite of the ejection port, but have had to move it to the other side to be comfortable when slinging it.

What quad rail do you have on there? I'm looking for a different one that's longer. Was it drop in easy? Any info would be very useful.

That looks like one of those offshore quad rails that's available through Ebay for about $90. Looks good! I've been wondering if the top rail would line up, and it looks like it does...or very close anyway. I think I'll order one up myself! :)

Give the man a cigar!! Yes sir, it is a 12" china quad rail from amazon. It looks just like the factory jr rail except longer. This is a cheap plinking gun for me and spending $300+ for a rail based on cosmetic reasons didn't make sense. So a little googling later and tada! Cheap quad rail that improves the look of my gun. The only stuff I'm mounting to it is a sling and foregrip so I'm not too worried about shi++y chinese manufacturing tolerances. As for it being drop in, well pretty much. It needed a .050 spacer for the barrel nut because it would bottom out before the barrel was tight. As for it lining up with the rail on the receiver, the quad rail is .017 taller. The colour is a little off, think anodizing vs paint but for the price.

Russell_D, if you want to see how the flash hider looks like from JR, I'll post a pic. Joe Dlask is just finishing threading the barrel on my .45 JR Carbine today...picking it up later. I bought the flash hider from JR. Decided to go for just the A2 style instead of the breacher.

I put a 10" UTG quad rail off Amazon for $70. Fit on excellent and the top rail is flush. Came with the delta ring and everything. Doesn't match my rifle at all but as I have the "Reaper" nothing is going to match :(

Here you go, Russell_D, just got it back from Joe Dlask...I really like the look of the FH on there. Now for longer rails...

Don't know why I can't take decent photos of rifles...but you get the idea...
