Hey, I'm just wondering if there is anything to look for in the High Standard Supermatic Citation models. I remember reading somewhere that certain factory's are better? Is it anything to worry about? What else should I ask/know about them?

Its just I'm possibly trading one of my guns for a .22 and that one seems to fit nicely both in the hand and price-range. So I'd just like to know a little bit before I commit.

Thanks!

The original High Standard guns were produced in Hamden & East Hartford Conecticut. The Hamden guns have a greater value among collectors.

I have had excellent results from both.

Stay away from the Texas produced clones. They are not built to the same standards as the original gun.

If you are looking at at a High Standard pistol I would suggest that you check the frame for cracks in the area of the slide stop. Cracks are rare but if the gun has this defect it will lower the value considerably.
