Q on Ruger single-shots: Did they ever make one chambered in 30 Carbine?

I refrained from clicking on this topic as I didn't understand why anyone would want a single shot rifle in 30 carbine. It would be like a beautiful woman with herpes, might be ###y but.....

Why not get one in a chambering that isn't useless past 25-50 yards. Or at least has cheap and plentiful ammo?

What next?!? A Merkel in 9mm Para?!?
 
I'd take on in a #1/3 for coyote/bunny/lynx/crow bush cruising popping stuff rifle. I love little single shots, something about em just speaks to me. It's odd, I wonder how many golfers sit around saying "why in the hell would you want an 8 iron!? Or a 3 wood!? It's dumb and useless!" Weird, I just don't get the small caliber hate, why does everything need to be the be all end all?

Still want one, though technically, I already have one...

32-20 brass reformed in a 30 Carbine die... call it "30 Carbine R" (rimmed). It throws 110 grain hard cast round nose bullets about 2000-2100 fps with impressive accuracy out of my Martini Cadet.

The reason for my post wasn't to raise the ire of the purists, but to say that if it works so well out of my Cadet, it could work well in a factory package for the average guy looking for a nice lightweight rifle for small game hunting.

Given that 30 Carbine has a heavier case wall than 32-20, brass life would be better, and case capacity is virtually the same. It would still be a handloaders proposition, as factory FMJ's are pretty useless.

I do believe the effective range is a bit more than that ;)

Nothing personal, but I think a gun like that is bloody useless. You can't hunt with it anything larger than a coyote, it's not known for accuracy and not a long range shooter. What can you do with it other than blast away at 50yd barn broadsides. I think a 357mag is about the same. It's a plinker that I can do the same with my SKS for a fraction of the price.

Dont be such a fuddy duddy. A single shot in a reasonable action means you can reload, rather than just use 110gr ball or the like. Lots of options with a cheapish source of brass, and 30 cal variety of bullets. I never liked the Ruger #1, but would consider one in 30 carb, cuz then I could load up more of these...

So a more popular and better ballistic 30 wouldn't have the same 30 cal bullet options?!? Your logic has lost me. I am all for oddball or reviving older cartridges, but since the 30 carbine doesn't fill either category....why not something with more panache, or more versatility?
