Just finished a lower build from the Stag stripped lower and parts kit offered by TSE. I love the look and now can't wait to get my upper from Arms East!

I did have one function question that I was hoping you guys with more experience might be able to answer.

With the lower assembled by itself, the hammer under spring pressure is resting against the bolt catch. This does not allow me to easily move the bolt catch unless I engage the hammer, as the hammer is currently putting pressure on the bolt catch. Is this expected? I realize once the upper is here it will not do this, but I was concerned if this was causing undo stress on the bolt catch in the mean time. Would it be better to store it with the hammer cocked?

no don't worry. when you have an upper and an empty magazine the hammer will be cocked back when the bolt catch is engaged by the empty magazine.

you are good to go.

ps don't dryfire you lower without holding the hammer with your thumb or putting something between it because its not good for it :D

what upper did you buy?
