Q: S&W M&P 9mm - Strange corrosion or standard?

I got this S&W M&P 9mm hand gun and I noticed, right under where the firing pin comes out, a tapered grove. Not sure if it's suppose to be this way or is this corrosion from the primer? Any help would be mush appreciated.

Normal as far as i can see. Mine has it also, looks factory.
