A: Because the mailman is slow bringing all the wood parts he ordered for these orphaned metal bits. PLease, mailman, pleaaaase, bring the boxes soon! :)

What do you do with the sporter wood parts...?
selling them for original parts would only make sporter part available for more convertion to sporter...thats a heck of a dilemma...!
Actually he likely heated his ice fishing hut on the Ottawa river with them. I'm guessing cause I used to live in Aylmer also.

Hey Geoff you're not that far off :D Mind you I hope the snow and ice will be gone when I'm gone fishing on the opening weekend (long weekend in May!)

JacquesT, the butts, if not too pre-sanded down to an unrecognizeable shape, I keep; the forend, good for spare wood for repairs mostly, and salvaging the metal reinforcements at the rear. And re. synthetic - please, stay polite! ;)

Looks like you need some more small metal bits....:)

Indeed, SKS, don't we always need more metal bits!

Actually, the keen observer will:

1. Dismiss the missing mags and trigger guards, they are in a box here;
2. Respectfully ignore that there is a shortened No4 barrel in there; (thank you)
3. Notice that one No1 Mk3 barrel's missing the inner band or "ring", and that part I'll be finding soon. And removing the front sight to slide it on. :mad:

Lou,

I just took a look in my tickle trunk and found an inner band for you.

While searching, I also unearthed some bits and bobs for one of those newfangled No.4 rifles. So they too are donated to the cause, keep up the good work!

What a generous man! Thanks a bunch... (PM sent ;) )
