As will be evident from my question I am new at the reloading game.

I picked up some .45 ACP brass at the range to reload. There were two manufactures products amongst the ones I picked up. I was a bit suprised to note that the primer pockets were of two different sizes. I had on hand CCI large pistol primers and primed and loaded those.

What about the brass with the smaller pockets? Is it just a matter of using small pistol primers with those? Do they require any change to the powder load?

Thanks in advance for the replies. Having access to this forum and the wisdom of its members is a great help.

Yes, small pistol primers work well. I did not notice any difference in performance between the small or large primered .45acp reloads.

Fear not the .45 brass with small primer pockets...

Except if it gets mixed with your Large Primed brass and you load on a progressive, had a few primer blows this way (trying to fit a LP in a SP hole)
