I am thinking of replacing my factory sako SS 85 stock. I was originally looking at a Mcmillan, but the cost looks like its going to be about $1200. This is over the price range i am willing to pay, and noted i could get a fierce stock for around $700. Its the same shape and weight, but does not have the checkering. Wondering if anyone has any experience with the stocks and can attest if this is a stock i should seriously consider.
Thanks
Jay B

I've seen stocks off the Fierce rifles break in the recoil lug area and split in the tang after 150 rounds of 300wsm ammo

Old thread... Any one have any more of an update on Fierce stocks? Are they decent? Are they available in Canada or do I have to order from US? Would like to update my Sako 85 Finnlite in 300wm. I have heard that the Fierce and McMillan both have had cracking issues?

I haven't tried driving over it with the truck or any torture tests but I have shot my 7mm mag quite a bit and have had no issues with the stock on my Fierce rifle. Nice and light with a big, cushy recoil pad. Not the quality of a McMillan but certainly better than those on most factory rifles.

My dad have a full carbon edge rifle in 338 Lapua and so far so good the stock is holding up just fine! The finish is also holding up!

I have a Fierce in a 300 wsm. I bought it used here about five years ago. About 3 years ago I noticed the stock was cracked at the rear tang area of the stock. After contacting Fierce and showing pictures of the crack in the stock I sent the rifle out to them. They replaced the stock at no charge. With the new stock I had it professionally bedded. I probably have close to 300 rounds through it with the new stock with no issues.

Thanks for the input. I thought Fierce rifles were Canadian make? But their website says US? Are these stocks available in Canada or do I have to order from the states?

I believe you can buy them in Canada. I would contact Omer at Precision Optics, he probably can answer your question.

They are built in Disraeli, Qc
you can try contacting them directly.

The website is down as they are changing name for the canadian business.
they will still be called Fierce in the US, but will become Antler firearms in Canada
same rifles different name.

i have an Antler on order.
they have added an ajustable cheek rest, integrated scope rail.
i chose to go with a SS twist fluted barrel, and titanium action and muzzle break.
an improved TI EDGE if i can say so…

What's the lead time and damage on your order?
