Quality of Marlin Lever Actions

The only Marlin I have is a 336C 30-30, and I have to say that if I ever win the lottery, I'll be buying some siblings of different calibers to go with it. Right now, I have my eyes set on a Marlin 39 .22 LR for the next acquisition.

Quality is top notch imho. They are accurate "users" and not safe queens.

Re scoping. Consider a "scout scope" set up. Here is my 1895M with a Burris scout scope (2.75power) forward mounted on an XS mount. This allows for quick both eyes open shooting. Detachable rings let you use the fixed sites-Williams peeps in my case. ( I did some stock refinishing so it may not look like a traditional Marlin )

Question on the scout mount - I recall seeing images (can't remember the US website) that it could be installed without removing the factory rear sight. Please disregard....found the link

Assuming there are pivot mounts available for scout scopes as well? Also, anybody here use the Ghost ring sights from Wild West guns?

Thanks,

Burnsy56 thats a nice looking rifle!

I would agree with others here for the money you absolutely cannot go wrong with a Marlin, I own four of them and love them all. I am looking at getting a couple more cause they're just so slick :)

Since I can't get one from the EE, who has the cheapest price on a new Marlin 1894c
(38/357)? I noticed that SIR has them for $518. Anyone know of a cheaper source?

*** edit: just checked with SIR and they won't have any in stock until about June/July... :(
