Quality of recently arrived Marstar HP9-1's

Well, the HP9-1 that I have has never jammed on me after about 300 or so 3" slug rounds later, 150rds 2 3/4" slugs and 500rds buck...and the original bead is still there (getting it replaced wouldn't be that all expensive and it does happen to the 870 in my experience)
After all those rounds, it did get smoother though!
Don't forget how much a Dlask barrel is going for-> 300 Bones for the barrel alone.
It is a thick one however.

Sounds like you just need a new ejector.

I wish. This 500A has failed to extract since day 1 (1986). It fails to fully unlock the action after firing heavy loads. The action opens a 1/4" and but won't open any further, as if the locking lug is jammed in place. It doesn't do it every time but often enough to relegate it to the back of the safe.

I had it checked by my gunsmith, he changed the block and smoothed it up but it is still hinky.

Having owned a HP9 and the problems I had, No thanks.....No more....

Care to elaborate? I'm also thinking of buying one and would like to know what kind of problems you had.
