Quality Vintage Scopes?

For the sake of pairing up vintage hunting rifle with good to excellent quality vintage scope - all metal/glass - what is community consensus on god scopes from 60, 70, up to 80 ies?

I would like to be armed with some knowledge in this respect next time I found myself at gun show. I like their vintage look, and price tag especially.
 
There are lots....old Weaver, Lyman, Redfield, Japanese Tasco's and Bushnell Banners, all good solid scopes. Prices vary wildly (under $75 to over $300), scopes were usually gloss finished, more fixed powers then variable....2x was your bush scope, 4x was field, 6x was "long range" and anything above that was a target scope lol.
I have a Lyman All American Perma Center 2.5x with German post reticle...nice little scope. Also a Japanese Tasco 4x with very fine cross hairs, also nice and clear.

Thanks Hitzy, I have to find someone old enough to remember what was the top of the line back then.
 
Unertl, Noske, Zeiss, Kahles, Nickel, Bausch and Lomb, Scopechief, Weatherby, Hensoldt, Sheppard (so so) ... probably forgotten a few
