Hi

Three months ago i ordered a QC10 glock lower for import from a vendor. Transfer was completed about 3 weeks ago, but i was then informed by the vendor that there was some recent regulation change that possibly affected these lowers and that vendor was waiting for confirmation from the RCMP lab that the QC10 lowers in country were OK. Three weeks later and still no word and they will not ship me the lower until they hear back.

Has anyone heard anything regarding what this change is? the only recent RCMP change i am aware of was related to the 80% lowers which would not affect QC10 lowers. If someone knows or has heard about this i would like to know what the issue on these is.

Also if someone has access to FRT information, can they check to see if there has been any change to the FRT entry on these?

There was something about certain lowers being prohib because the RCMP lab made up some crap about them fitting FA parts or something like that. It's stupid and unless you're a criminal and try to make your rifle FA you'd never know and the lowers have been circulating for years without any issues.
The pistol mag lowers shouldn't be effected so maybe there is something else recently that I've missed.

Contact Tier One Armoury in Edmonton, they sell QC lowers and can probably give you a better idea of what's going on.

If the transfer was completed 3 weeks ago, the RCMP has already signed off on it....
 
Update: Talked to the RCMP today. Apparently, even though they issued me a registration certificate, my lower is apparently registered as a prohibited full auto.
Person i was talking to doesnt know why and how it was transferred to me if this is the case, or if it is due to a change in the firearms classification or just registered incorrectly.
 
Bull####. I ordered a QC10 3 months ago. No Prob. I got it after the idiots at RCMP reclassified certain lowers.

How can you be full auto when you need a special upper with a different bolt carrier.
 
Yeah, this isn't getting out of hand - looks like someone got their idiot nephew a job at CFC and thought no one would notice because it's just firearms. Either that or MS has finally gone off the deep end.

Probably the case.
If it is indeed registered as prohibited, i.e., full auto 12-2, the cut-off date for new 12-2 registrations was long ago. Did the thing even exist then?
The registration is going to have to be corrected.

The story that was told to me by another "Importer" that is not a CGN sponsor was;

the original QC10 lower that was submitted to the RCMP had the wider internal space to make it full auto and it was classified as a full auto prohibited, so Quarter Circle 10 went back and tweaked their production line and came up with a new narrowed lower receiver and resubmitted for classification, these new receivers were marked with the letter "C" in front of the serial number.
It is quit possible the person at the CFC used the wrong FRT number, because the model name for both are the same ("GSF" for Glock Small Frame) and didn't realize there are a separate serial number sequence for the new Canadian legal version or QC10 had simple switch over to the new narrowed internals and dropped the letter "C" from the serial number and a third possibility that the wrong receiver was sent to Canada.

Ask who ever you are buying the lower from to take some pictures of the lower with a ruler against it and have them look at it again.

I've never understood why people want to be grandfathered into things like this. The guys that I know that are grandfathered are miserable because they have some really nice rifles that are also not cheap that all they can do is look at and fondle, never being able to shoot it again is like masterbating but stopping before the finish.
 
First, please allow me to introduce myself.... My name is Marshall and I am the verifier for the importer of the QC10 lowers. I will try to shed some light on this topic, but unfortunately it will be a dim light at this point.

This is otherwise known as a KlusterFunk! I would say the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, but in this case it the more like the thumb doesn't know what the trigger finger is doing.

This all started with the new directive from the RCMP that all "new" lowers to be added to the FRT need to be thick wall. Let not digress on the logic behind that... We received that directive earlier this spring and have since been qualifying all new submissions using this guideline.

Then the unpleasant stuff hit the fan when one of our customers was denied a registration certificate once he completed his QC10 build. He was told that the lower was prohib and that he should expect someone from the RCMP to be coming to get it. Then another customer tried to register his completed build as well. This time the RCMP sent him a letter that was almost verbatim to the letter we received earlier regarding the thick wall requirement. However, where our letter said all "new" his letter said all "new and existing". While this was going on there was a transfer pending for another stripped lower to another customer whom I believe is the OP here.

It was around that time that all QC10 FRT numbers disappeared. (To clarify, there were six QC10s listed. GSF, GLF and CLT, each listed as both prohib and restricted. The prohibs are the low shelf ones that are in the US market and the restricted ones are the high shelf that QC10 made specially for us Canadians all of which have a C in the serial number.)
So at that point we called and wrote to the RCMP for clarification. We received a prompt response from them telling us that they will look into it. Then the next day the pending transfer of the stripped GSF lower was approved. Two days later the GLF and CLT FRT #s reappeared, but not the GSF... GSF is still missing as of this writing...

Then after a couple of weeks we got a more detailed response from the RCMP. It seems that their position is that the manufacturer changed their process between the time the FRT was issued and now. This is not the the case at all. We have all of the back up from when the FRT was issued and it was done based on the thin wall, high shelf model which is exactly that same model that we have been importing all along.

So now the Kluster gets Funkyer....The original customer who was told the RCMP were coming to get his lower received his completed registration certificate just the other day... his lower is a GSF! .... Seriously WTF! Remember the GSF is not back on the FRT so how could they possible approve a completed registration??

All that said, we are trying to get the RCMP to give us some clarity on all of this and in the meantime QC10 is re-tooling again to make all of the new Canadian lowers thick wall as per the recent directive.
