Quebec ATT wait times?

Hello everybody,

My name is George and I am also new to CGN. I am a history buff and I am beginning to enjoy talking to people on this website. So far, everybody has been very helpful to me and I intend to return the favor.

One question that I have now... does anyone know anything about how long it takes for somebody (on the Quebec side, I live in Gatineau) to get an LTATT and who do I have to contact (QUebec CFO or the Surete du Quebec)?

In any case, I will be asking the same question in a different thread... I am just fishing for answers...

Thanks again.

Depending on your responses, I may go ahead and buy myself something non-restricted first, as opposed to having to wait for the LTATT for a restricted firearm....

Welcome to CGN George. Sorry I can't help you with your LTATT question. You will need to wait for a Quebec member to chime in.

It takes about a week George. You apply to the CFO office (my club did all the paperwork for me). It is only good from your home to your club (addresses are listed on the ATT). If you are planing on shooting IPSC, then join the Quebec Shooting Federation and with your membership card you won't need an ATT to travel to any IPSC sanctioned match anywhere in Quebec.

Bien merci, pres717!

Does your answer apply to Quebec resident with Ontario range club memberships such as me... what I mean to say, if I am a Quebecer and I go to a range in Ontario, it still takes a week and I only have to deal with the CFO office for the province of QUebec???

Anyways, I am in your debt for your concise reply...

As I said before, I like this forum better with each passing day... one has to ask a question and bam, you get an answer... I can only hope that one day I may reciprocate.

Thank you.
