the gun worked fine, I'll write up a longer review in the pistol forum soon, about the whole summer's worth of experience.
re stage 8 - I run that in 10.11s, and there is no way that someone could do that in Production in half that time, I don't care if Eric G showed up himself - it would take longer than 5 seconds to just run from the start position to the end, even without shooting...
Looking at my run (
http://www.ipsc-matches.net/ipsc/2006PQ/omen_08.wmv ), ok, I waste maybe 0.75s looking for the last target on the left, and then I could have moved a little faster towards the front right slot, so call it another 0.75s - so, I could have/should have run it in 8.6s. I REALLY can't see anyone being able to cut further 3s off, with a production gun, while getting all the hits... It was just impossible... I mean, I think I had a very good start of the stage, and 5s after the beep, I'm barely half way down the stage...
I'm sad the stage got tossed, I would have preferred to keep it without the impossible scores, but there was no way to have a re-shoot, so Pascal and Mario decided it would be best to just remove the stage from the match. it wouldn't have made any difference on the winner in Prod, since I didn't blow the stage, don't know about other divisions.
