They must have a huge piece of land ,, they also say no hunting license is required..

Why would they require a hunting license?

This is a private venture on their own property. Other similar places in the west do not require a hunting license either, although there certainly are fees.

I don't quite understand this. I need a license on my land? I've never heard of hunting without a license before.

What's not to understand? Go to the website and read it just as I did moments ago. This is much like hunting on a private pheasant reserve, with a little twist of difference.

The hunts they offer are for exotic species that they raise/feed on their own private property. Henceforth these are not native species subject to a provincial season and provincial game laws.

It's that simple friend.

There's a place near sherbrooke, I don't remember the name where you pay by the pound for the wild boar you kill, they're not truly wild. Like elk hunts or red stag hunts in Quebec they have raised the animals and once they get old enough they release them onto their fenced in piece of land for you to "hunt" them.

For those of you in Eastern Ontario that want to fill your freezer with pork...cost by the pound...

i went to the website. I just never heard of being able to hunt without a license. (there is a typo in my post). it should say "I DONT need a license on my land?"

Since you don't need a license, maybe you can use FMJ too....my SKS comes to mind.

OOOOooooowww......are you not raised right??

Even the ugly little critter that could attack you deserves the least amount of suffering when you pull the trigger on it.

Spend some money on soft pointed ammunition is my best advice to you "kind" sir.

Edit: How is it that many of these similar ideas, often seem to sprout from someone with a surplus rifle and a gazillion rounds of surplus ammunition??

Thos would be more like awkward agri-harvesting than hunting. Raised in captivity and released to a fenced in property does not embody hunting principles like fair chase.

It is fine by me. Just call it bad farming and not hunting.

All of mere tripe would evaporate of what is what/where/who, once you made your own bratwurst from wild boar and fed it to your happy family!

Rumour has it that there are feral pigs, just outside Ottawa that have gotten loose and creating a little heard. Can anymore confirm this?
