Any reports from mid November on the Quebec winter caribou hunt? We are leaving Monday December 3, driving from Toronto to Mirage Outfitters. The satellite maps of the caribou migration look good and the future 14 day weather forecasts are not too cold. (-8). We hope to make the Hydro dormitory at 355 on the first day and then into the camp for Tuesday. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are staying at the main lodge, they suggest that you leave your boots outside of your door in the hall way. Bring them into your room (a good thing that I did)!!

When I was up there, apparently 4 locals went in to the main lodge late evening for a few drinks, and on their way out, they each scooped up 2 pairs of boots from the hall way (total of 8 pairs).

Otherwise food is great.

Bring extra Gas cans.

No reports about the winter hunt, but a definite thumbs-up for Mirage in general. I was there this fall for my first-ever guided hunt ( at 50!) and was very impressed with the organization and handling of details. I'm sure the winter hunt will be operated in a similarly professional manner.
