Questar's CMMG 14.5" M4 - updated with more pics on page 2

I just looked at the Questar page and saw that there are only 2 of the 14.5 M4 uppers left. I believe there were 9 originally. Mine was either number 9 or number 8 on the countdown list. They won't be around much longer.

As I've said, I think 14.5 is a great balance between a lot of different things. Weight, feel, velocity, etc. It seems to feel right.

I'm not sure about 11.5 uppers in 5.56/.223. Seems they had them in piston, and have them in 9mm. Getting them in DI should be possible. There is no reason we couldn't get them (that I am aware of). But, as with everything in ARs (especially in Canada), sourcing the parts is the hardest part. And gets a little harder all the time.

I hear ya, but lately it seems availability has been good, You got ATRS and Questar Stepping up to the plate, you also got Fabsports... Plus the EE has been flowing with parts, Seems like guys are not buying as much, hence the inventory around....

Just looked at CMMG website.Wow they have some nice 11.5 uppers.
I will check with Questar to see if he is plannig on bringing any in.

I am interested to know if the barrel is heavy profile beneath the handguards or thin profile? I am guessing true military thin profile under the grips but would appreciate a confirmation on this. Thanks!

Just a word of caution. I just purchased a CMMG midlength and although it may not have been Questar's fault. I did not receive the rifle they advertised. Make sure you confirm exactly what the specs are before you order. Other than this issue, I've had nothing but good service from Questar.

In all fairness... your post makes it sound like you were forced to keep the item you received... that was not exactly the case.

There was an error in the description on our website... mistakes do happen. The original description said the mid-length package had a 1:7 barrel (by mistake) when the rifle is a 1:9 twist with WASP finish. When you pointed out the error we apologized and immediately offered to refund your purchase.

We could not supply the 1:7 you had been looking for... not in a Mid-Length... we simply don't have them. In the end you chose to keep the 1:9 twist WASP.

When you notified us of the error we took immediate steps to check all of the CMMG rifle packages to insure the website descriptions were correct and we revised any errors. I can't promise that there aren't any more errors on the website... with @ 1,000 items listed and because these items change literally daily, it's quite likely that a typo does still exist in other items. We are constantly checking the site and updating any errors as they are found.

We certainly weren't trying to mislead anyone nor were we expecting you to suffer for our error... a full and complete refund was offered. Just want readers to be clear on that :)

Respectfully... Mark

Mark,

I'm not blaming you guys. It was a little disappointing to see the 1/9 and WASP as opposed to the 1/7 Chrome. Mistakes are made I understand that. I was not forced to keep the rifle. However, seeing how Questar is about the only one that ever has any kind of selection and had what I was looking for(more or less;)) I personally I had no choice but to keep it. Waiting another year or more for the exact specs I was looking for was just out of the question. Especially when you're being teased by all the stock Questar has.

As Mark stated, not ten minutes after he was made aware of the error on the website, the information was changed.
In the end I don't foresee any issues with the rifle. I took it out not long after receiving it and it runs great.
