Questars new 10 rnd .223 ar15 mags....

IBTL.

Seriously, theres like 4 other threads on this. While the search function is HORRIBLE you can still find the other threads re; "ar mags" and "new rra products"

Now, why cant someone design a firearm, pump-action or bolt-action, that uses 30round mags that so happen to also lock in an AR but arent made on AR15 mag tooling.

Simple, cost. The tooling is a fortune for a tiny market. An what if the rules change tomorrow? Then the expense was wasted.

In case I missed it, can someone explain to me how these can be legal, but other types by manufacture have to be 5 rd.? Or is it like any Canadian firearm law..... MAKES NO SENSE?

Questar's 10rnd AR-mags are PISTOL mags.
They are born as pistol mags which is why they are the way they are.

RRA is the only company making 10rnd AR-Pistol mags.

Pistol are allowed 10rnds in Canada... get it?

As said earlier it doesn't matter what you put it in... it's only about the mags and what they were made for when they are created (i.e. pistol = 10rnds).

Any other magazine for the AR is a Rifle magazine and limited to 5 rounds. Clear?

It actually does make sense, but is also very silly.

For all those asking about the legality of such mags, have some faith in the importer. They stand to lose their business and go to prison for the importation and sale of these. I'm certain they did a rightous pile of homework beforehand.

It was more of a rethorical question, but thanks anyways :D

I checked the CFC's site to see if a bulletin to police had been issued yet. It has not been done so as of yet, the one is there for the CX4 Storm and its magazine issue. It does state that as long as the magazine is legal then it does not matter which firearm it is used though. I hope the CFC gets this posted soon, I would feel better taking my 10 round RRA mags to the range if I have the paperwork to back it up.

How much do they cost? I'm sick and tired of going to the range for 2 hours and spend 1 1/2 hours loading the magazines.

What we should all do request the bulettin from the CFC and if we get stopped we'll show it to the cops. Now we carry enough papers to beat any office in down town. After all it says "pistol" on it so....... One thing I can't figure out - these guys write the law and even if we stay within the law they still like to come and growl at us.:bangHead: What the he11 do they want?

Seriously I'm interested.

Countdown to the inevitable "But are they approved as pistol mags, and do you have it engraved on a marble tablet by God and Stockwell Day himself?" thread.
