So I'm posting this here because 33MS is probably well known to people who work on AR's.
Awhile ago I purchased a tube of 33MS for installing a few AR barrels. I went with 33MS because despite the never ending debate about what grease to use when installing AR barrels, 33MS seems to be accepted by everyone.
It's worked great for that purpose.
Of course, that takes very little grease, and it comes in a large tube... so you pretty much get a lifetime supply of the stuff.
Recently I've started using it elsewhere where one might use grease on a firearm (bolts, slide rails, etc) because it was just what i happened to have on hand. I've found it works pretty well.
Now, you can read never-ending debates on what grease to use for every gun and application until the cows come home.
People use lots of different types of grease/oils, but 33MS never really gets recommended for anything other than barrel installs on an AR15.
Is there any reason why it WOULDN'T be an acceptable grease for other applications?
