Question about a Lakefield Mark I

Hi folks, recently got a Lakefield Mark I as part of a trade. Once a round is chambered, I need to pull back on the cocking piece. Is this normal with this model? I inspected the bolt and al seems normal, it seems to be part of the design. Thanks for any input,

perfectly normal Lou. it is a single shot non-self cocking bolt. Also a safety feature for novices. and actually quite accurate too. mine is a gopher getter.
