Question about buying a Restricted firearm ?

I am not sure exactly what is the arrangement that this Auction Company has, but it is true that they in most cases, when a Restricted firearm is sold at the Auction, that within a couple of hours the gun is transfered, and the buyer is able to take it home with him/her.

This is the link of the Auction Company, and there is a place you can click to go to the other website that shows the listings of the guns that are up for auction on Saturday. There is a Phone #, so if you are thinking about coming out and are driving a long ways, you can ask them how the transfer process works. When I called them up, they told me that the Transfers are done at the auction right away, and in most cases, the buyer will be able to bring his Restricted firearm home within the same day, so they won't have to return to pick it up.

I did'nt go into detail and asked how it was possible, to have the transfer done so quickly, but I do know that this place has been doing it for a long time.

If anyone would like to confirm, what I am saying then feel free to call them up, and post your results here. I actually would like someone else to varify what I have said, just in case I am being misinformed, or I am not understanding what they are telling me correctly.

You seem dead set on believing the transfers will be done immediately regardless of whatever anyone says. And that's perfectly fine. And they may very well be done in hours. I'd like to know how they do it on Saturday being as the CFO is closed. I believe the CFP is open saturday and will do non-restricted but the Ont CFO is closed.

The history of restricted transfers in Ont has been painfully slow. That's why there's a million threads complaining about it. As was mentioned , I doubt very much there's an "arrangement" in place because there would be complaints filed all over by retailers for someone getting perferential treatment.

Transfers do seem to be getting faster, possibly a result of complaints filed with the Ontario Ombudsman Office by many members here. The heat may be on.

As far as the auction telling you it's always done same day, they are also a retail outlet and what are they going to say? It takes months? Not a great way to get a lot of people to an auction.

Either way, keep us informed on what you find there, what they were auctioning, and of course, how long the transfers take. I'm curious to see what they're selling. Actually, I'm going to check your link.

Good luck.
