Question about CO behaviour

Why, I would never stop at a farmer's yard and shoot the breeze with him while in uniform, and ask if I could shoot gophers on his land. My, My! That is just so unethical, immoral, and downright dangerous even!!
I was in a grocery store one day getting a jug of milk. This worldly fellow asked me, in a snarly voice, if I was allowed to shop while on duty. I looked at him, smiled, and replied, "Oh yes", and walked away. One of the local big thinkers.
Yet another guy that just can't MYOB.

You'd best do your homework. The only thing they can search without a warrant is your vehicle(s), boats, planes, etc. Even a permanent hunt camp is off limits. They need a warrant plain and simple to enter your home, camp etc.. It pays to know the rules and know your rights!

Sorry. I'll not post again. Edit: I guess you mean the ar$ehole in the store... Just to add a bit, this guy was a "special person" on the Highway Transport cops's list. He had a couple of semis and they always made sure they found something wrong. I guess his big mouth kept him in a good supply of tickets. (grin)
Ethics
If he's on duty using his ministry position and vehicle for his own gain I would think that would go against policy. Opens the CO up to discipline on a lot of levels..He could be doing as one person stated an investigation

Two of my very best hunting partners I've had over the years were both old fashoined game wardens. One of them being an inspector, in charge of a huge piece of BC. We went on a great many trips together.
However, as game wardens in the bush, or at a lake shooting ducks, they were always on duty. Easy at that time, because they didn't have uniforms, just a big silver badge, usually out of sight.
A game warden in hunting clothes out hunting, had a far better chance of catching a violator, than does a modern CO, in full uniform and with an emergency vehicle.

I don't really give a shart about him asking permission during work hours, he may have waited in his truck until coffee or lunch time, but things do go a bit sideways when he asks for names and so on. If this were just some average joe interested in coordinating hunting schedules shure but he's a co askng for names... That's different. Sounds like he's fishing for hunters.
