So i have the marstar military muzzle brake I just got in the mail today for my cz 858. When installing it I find that the only way I can screw it in tight is if the little pin thingy is not in the groove. Otherwise its not threaded all the way (maybe like 95%). So is it supposed to be not tight all the way or am I a dumb ass who doesn't know how to put on a muzzle brake? Any help is appreciated.

Mine is like that also. I think that is how it is supposed to be. The pin keeps the brake from loosening from recoil and coming off.

YMMV

I used spark plug washer as my crush washer works fine and can be made tight.
That muzzle brake is bloody loud

You are a dumb ass!!! :stirthepot2::stirthepot2: KIDDING---Every muzzle brake made for the 858 fits like this. I've heard of people using yellow teflon tape on the threads to tighten the fit. Or, like me, just leave the damn thing. 2k rounds down the pipe later, :ar15: all is still well.....

i had the same problem... teflon tape works great... you will have to change it every 10 trips to the range or so... BUT... i noticed that groups become a bit tighter when the brake has solid fit.. washer & blue locktight sounds like a good plan too.. your choice.. :) man that thing is super loud.. forgot to wear plugs once.. ears still ringing... :) :)

I think I like the leaving it the hell alone idea. Im not exactly shooting far, mostly 50 yards indoors as the nearest outdoor range is almost 2hrs from my house.

I chuck them in a lathe and face the back off until I get just short of another rotation so it locks in tight, I do the same on AK's too.

I've looked at them, but honestly I don't have any problem with the recoil of the 7.62x39mm. It's fun. I know It would let me get back on target faster, but so far I can accurately fire off a 5 round mag more than fast enough to be pissed at having to reload so soon. :D
