question about deer hunting and deer tags

Hello, I need some guidance with regards to deer tags.
I am going moose hunting this season and bought a deer tag in case I run across a big buck (deer season will be open)
now, I usually hunt deer in a different area and the plan is to join the antlerless deer draw for that WMU.
my questions is:
am I allowed to buy a deer tag (to hunt anthlered deer (buck) anywhere in Ontario) and at the same time apply for the antlerless deer draw in a specific wmu?
i.e. I have the opportunity to harvest 2 deers in the regular deer season (not coutning the controlled deer draw and the additional deer seals)
my understanding is 1 deer per hunter per season.

any advice will be appreciated.

from what i understand is that when you purchase a deer tag and are drawn in the antlerless for a specific WMU you can either tag a buck anywhere in ont or tag a buck or doe in the selected wmu you cannot tag 2 animals with one seal BUT usualy around the end of augest some selected WMU's offer second seals for sale which will allow you to tag another buck in that WMU
it would be something to look into
 
some areas offer up to 6 extra deer tags so you can buy your deer tag and apply for the anterless draw for your area.then buy for the area you would be moose hunting in if they offer the extra tags.but you may go into a draw for such area and get a doe tag

Apply for antlerless in main draw. You can then buy extra tags (after Aug.8) for certain areas, however I believe some of these xtra tags are for DOEs only, you can't use them on a buck.

My hunting partner bought an xtra tag for our moose WMU, and I'm almost positive it said "Antlerless Only".

you go into a draw for the extra tags bucks and does so its the luck of the draw

Not according to the MNR and the 2006 reg's. From the site:

"For most of these WMUs additional game seals will be
sold by automated telephone system only from August 8-31,
2006, on a first come, first served basis, 24 hours a day,
at 1-800-288-1155.
In early August, hunters who purchased an additional deer seal
in 2005 will be mailed a brochure confirming the WMUs that
will offer additional deer seals and containing the hunt codes
required to use this system. (If you do not receive a brochure,
please call the Outdoors Card Centre at 1-800-387-7011.) Cost
of the additional deer seal for residents is $36.00.
If a WMU has any game seals remaining for sale after
August 31, they will be sold at selected government offices
starting September 6. Note that the limits mentioned above
remain in effect during this over-the-counter sales period. "
 
OK, I found the brochure from 2005 season for additional tags.

From WMU 03 thru 64B - ANTLERLESS ONLY (all the northern WMU's)
from WMU 65 thru 74A - Antlered or Antlerless
WMU 74B - Antlered only
from WMU 75 thru 79 - Antlered or Antlerless
from WMU 80 thru 94 - Antlerless only


total xtra tags available was 38,895

So, by this chart, most of the areas where you would be moose hunting, the xtra tags will be for DOEs only. If you shoot a buck, you have to use your regular tag, and then you're SOL for the deer hunt in southern Ontario, because the xtra tags from most WMU's here are for archery or muzzleloader season only, not to be used during the rifle or shotgun season

I shot my deer 2 seasons ago in Cavan, went to the agency of confussion in PTBO. during the firearm season and was told there were plenty available but only for bow twangers and smoke polers. Picked up three more after local moterists on the 12th and Dranoel line, go figure
 
OK, I called the MNR. they confirmed what SignGuy said earlier
