I just want to clarify options with this holster from those that have used them or have experience with them.

(a)Is it adjustable for height?

(b)Is it adjustable for Cant (muzzle forward)?

(c)How would you compare the DOH to a race type holster? ( I use a speedsec, and I have used a Bladetech belt holster, but not a DOH)
No question that there may be more room for user error with the Speedsec(forget to lock, and if you miss draw badly, you could drop it)

(a) no
(b) yes
(c) I have had some of my fastest draws with the DOH, I think the security of knowing that I can't knock the gun out, plus the slightly longer release time, allows for a more aggressive speed in drawing the pistol. On the other hand i really like my speedsec and haven't decided yet whether I'm going back to it this summer.

How low will it hang? (DOH) I have the Speedsec hanging within' rules, but as low as possible on the pole.

You need to careful with the muzzle forward cant. When I tried the holster in that position I think it failed to meet the 50mm IPSC rule with my P226.

As it turns out, I’m looking for a holster for my CZ75 and I was contemplating the DOH. I’m new to this and I still have to do my black badge course.

Anybody think a DOH might be a good starter holster?

It would be a good choice for starting out...

I emailed Steve in regards to using this DOH vs Speedsec/race holster.
He recommends using it and does not feel that you will lose anytime. Basically said practice is what works. He actually said that he set the cant of his race holster for open division to the same as his Bladetech.

I used a DOH Bladetech last year with great success and bought a new one for this season. If you custom order right from the company you can get all kinds of neat finishes and custom touches like a bigger 'speed cut' opening on the front.

My holsters have different belt attachements - one with the basic 2" belt tunnel and shims and the other with the 'tek-lok' attachment. They hang at slightly different vertical angles.

The tek lock belt 'loop' puts the gun more than 1/4" lower and further from my waist - in fact the butt of my 1911 is paralell with the top of my belt - and I'm a little worried that a 'rules lawyer' might want a measure, it's that close.

I have never tried a race holster, but I'm convinced that my draw time wouldn't change. The only drawback I've seen with my Bladetechs is that they are a little hard on the finish. I had no real wear on my HK's but my stainless Para looks a little rough on close inspection.

PM me if folks want to see measurements or pics, I can try and get some up later this week.

Does this mean that he cants his bladetech? or that he sets his race rig vertical??? Enquiring minds...

I think it means he uses a muzzle forward cant, and does the same cant for his open holster.
re: "Speed cut opening in the front"
I emailed 911 supply and they are going to check into getting this performed on the one I ordered.
They have a cool carbon fibre finish:cool:

:) too much time on my hands?? you decide, pics as requested:

I'm happy with my holsters but as they say, your mileage may vary!

the Teck LOk attachment looks like it allows it to hang lower. The regular DOH doesn't look like it hangs low enough.

I appears ok to me, but I am not an RO.

Before the DOH model I was using a regular belt holster - it was a big change. For me I don't think the extra drop with the tek lok would make a big difference. Also keep in mind that my regular DOH is an older model, they've since gone to a wider belt attachment (check photos on their website) and so the drop may be different too.

FYI, anyone thinking about ordering one be prepared to wait. Bladetech is apparently moving and extremely busy, which means it could be at least a 6 -8 week wait. (maybe in by end of June, or early July)
