Question about firearms ban

How can you do a course that requires handling of firearms when you are legally prevented from doing so? If you want firearms to be prt of your life, you have to behave. I don't make the rules, but I have kept my arse clean to be able to do so

This thread is starting to sound like the recent "suicide by cop can I get a pal" guy thread. Get a copy of the order and as much of the other court filings together and call Lawyer Referral in BC and I am sure each provincial bar has a similar service. In BC its a min 1/2 hour no charge but no obligation to retain or for the lawyer to offer any services. Good luck

I'm not 'providing' guns. I think of it the same as if you take anyone else shooting - they don't have a PAL but yet are allowed to use your guns under direct supervision.

if he has a ban he can NOT touch your rifles/guns period.. he cant even take a pal course until the ban is over or the ban can be life time.. I know this first hand..

I was prohibited from owner or using firearms also.in fact it just ran out the week before I took the coarse. the bans are usually 10 years and on the application it asks if you have been prohibited in last 5 years .. so you are good to go.. I even called the CFO to explain my situation and they said just check the box NO that asks if you have been prohibited in last 5 years .. your being truthful and they are asking vague questions so its a win win ..

Be careful with that question. If you have a prohibition order that was enforced 10 years ago, and you apply for your PAL the day after it expires, you STILL MUST answer "yes" until 5 years AFTER the expiration of your prohibition order, not 5 years after the day it was first enforced.
