Hello everyone;

I tried looking this up but could find anything about it.

While on Questar's website, I came across: https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopexd.asp?id=1408&bc=no

FN-PS90-STD-BLK-103
FNH USA Model PS90 "Custom", S/A Carbine,
10.3" Barrel, (top rail only) - Black

I am interested on purchasing it but before I do im concerned about one thing. Is this legal? The only PS90 that I have seen are with the standard barrel. I am not sure if the one with the 10" barrel is ok to purchase. I have my R-PAL and am also planning on picking up the non-restricted barrel for it too. But because I have never seen this before I could use some help from you experts.

Please help.

Thank you for your time.

Kyle

Would they sell it if it wasn't legal? Questar doesn't operate out of the back of a van, so you're good to go.

The 10" barrel will be restricted so it's a range toy. As for buying the NR barrel, I hope you're not thinking that swapping the barrel will allow you to go hunting with it today and then swapping back tomorrow to go to the range?

Actually i was thinking that. I assume this is a bad idea...?

Well I went to my local gun club to get more information in which they were extremely helpful. I got my answer. Thank you for your help.

If you found the answer why don't you share it? It may be obvious to some of us but the next noob to actualy do a search will be grateful.

It could get you into hot water. If you buy it with a restricted barrel it is classified as restricted, changing the barrel to a longer one may make it eligible to be re-classified as an NR, but you have to call the RCMP and have your registration re-classified. If it were me, I'd just buy the non-restricted barrel so I can fully enjoy my gun.

I guess each time he changes the barrel, he will have to reregister it with the RCMP. Too much headache! Buy two, one NR and one R!

Yikes! I could only wish to be so well off lol. But yes it's the same procedure the guys doing prohib>restricted go through. Major headaches for sure. The restricted barrel looks cooler, but the NR barrel isn't that bad. It depends on what your intentions are but if you want to say hunt coyotes/varmints with it then just buy the NR model. The longer barrel will probably give you better accuracy at the range anyway and you won't have to deal with reg certs or ATTs. NR is the way to go if given the choice.

This definately is. I am now going to go with;

https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopexd.asp?id=1374&bc=no

FN-PS90-STD-BLK-NR
FNH Model PS90 'Non-Restricted', 5.7 x 28mm, (top rail only) - Black, Custom 470mm Barrel
Registered Non-Restricted Firearm

With a barrel shroud.

With talking to the guy at my local gun store, he convinced me that it is way less of a headache to just go for the NR version. He said the same thing when it comes to calling the RCMP and having it reclassified everytime I change the barrel. Pain in the ass if you ask me haha.

As for getting two PS90's? one R and one NR.... I wish I had that money too. But after the gun and 4 additional magazines with the barrel shroud im looking at $3200. Then I still need ammo lol. Though the 10" barrel looks cooler, the NR barrel with the shroud looks equally "cool".

I appreciate everyone's help. I've had my PAL for over 4 years but have yet to do anything with it...
