I know this may sound strange, but what would the legal ramifications be behind hunting those generic white and yellow butterfly/moth things? Would a license be required, or would it fall under 'pest-control'?

Why shoot a butterfly? They aren't pests, they're nice to look at, and they pollinate flowers. Shoot all the deer flies etc. you want, they're harder to hit and a PITA.

Some of us even go trophy hunting.....

I carry a 45-70 for butterfly defense...
You would love the bees that live in my shed. They are about double the size of the biggest ones in your collection.

I dunno....I'd go with a 12 guage....![]()
Guys, anything less than 50 BMG is just leaving yourself open to butterfly mauling, in my experience. I got taken down by a tiger swallowtail once years ago and I was so shaken by the experience that I couldn't go near pools, beaches or strip clubs for fear of seeing a tattoo of one!
On an unrelated topic I'm also terrified of dolphins, lollipops and rainbows but that's a whole different issue...
I dunno....
if I was shooting butterflies with a shotgun or rifle, I'd want someone to come up to me and say...
Hey Seal, ya f**kin retard, get a life !
