Question about Lee moulds.

I just bought a Lee dual cavity .50 Cal. BP mould. One side casts a round ball and the other side casts a REAL bullet. My question is this:
Should the sprue mark be centered on the bullet??? In this mould, the RB sprue is centered but the REAL bullet sprue is not. If you have the same mould, could you please check??

I have the REAL combo in .50 and the spure appears to be a hair off centre on mine. That said they shoot pretty good. You could look at deburring the sprue plate if that is the issue or email Lee. I didn't pull my mold out to check, just some balls and bullets I had already cast.

Mine is a .50 cal as well! Finger on the wrong key, don't you know!!!! This one is so far off of center, it's almost at the edge of the bullet! I'll try to take a pic tomorrow and post it.

As long as they hit where your aiming, I wouldn't worry about it.
But if you are worried about look at Lyman. You should be able to by the 2 seperate mold's from them,shouldn't cost you more then $150.00 for the pair

Are you allowing the mould to cool (2-4 seconds) before you tap the sprue cutter. Maybe your dragging the cutter over lead when it hasn't completely hardened? Can you post some pics.
All my moulds are Lee except for a TC Maxi-Ball for my .54.
Like Zuke said, if there hitting where your aiming I wouldn't worry about it.

I always allow the sprue to freeze before cutting it. This is the first mould that I own, and I own several Lymans, RCBS, NEI, Lee, that the sprue is so far off center. I won't be shooting this rifle until Spring, so I don't know how it will print. Sorry about the poor quality of the pic!

weird, as long as they cast nice/properly i would say go with it. unless they do that to help swirl it around for being such a big bullet?
