Question about my Bushnell 3500 BDC

So i bought a bdc for my 243 Winchester and I was wondering, since I reload do I create a load that will shoot to the max that the bdc will allow (600 yards) or do I use the most accurate load for the harmonics of the rifle and compromise on the bdc (have a little extra hold over)?

What BDC are speaking of? If it's the DOA 600 yd reticle, it will be a comprise of a number of different bullet trajectories. Best to find what your rifle likes to shoot and then use the reticle and record where your rifle shoots in relation to the holdover points. It won't be 100% perfect, it's a hunting reticle so close is good enough.

It is the DOA 600 and I plan on mostly shooting steel with this gun once i have the ammo figured out. It looks like ill have to find the middle ground on this. Thanks

I have the same reticle in my Bushnell 6500 which is mounted to my .300 Win Mag. I find it fairly accurate using the holdover points. Had to bump the 100 yd zero up to 1 in over though. Should be fine for shooting steels depending on the size of them.
