Question about new PAL

I just had my PAL approved last Friday, but still waiting on it in the mail. So I called them to find out my number because people said you can order from some places with just the number. However, the lady on the phone told me not to buy anything until I get my card in the mail.

Now she got me scared. Should I just wait until I get the card? I don't want to risk anything.

There's some retailers who will fill an order with a number,but,verification still needs to be done before a firearm sale can be completed. Mail orders may be shipped to you if a retailer has done the verification at their end. If you haven't received your PAL and the order is delivered to you,that puts you in violation of the Criminal Code-----possession of a firearm without a valid license,even though,the PAL is still in process. Some will argue that the chance of being charged under the circumstances is remote unless someone turns you in,but,why take the chance? If I were you,I'd wait until the PAL was in my hand before ordering or buying anything.
