Hey I picked up a used Optima / Hatsan MPA and it came with the muzzle cap and flash suppressor. I wanted to put the flash suppressor on so I unthreaded the cap off but when I go to screw the suppressor on it slides over the threads like its missing an adapter or something? Anyone else have or had this problem or am I missing something?

Any help is great thanks

Hmmm...mine fits fine as is. It doesn't look much different from your actually. I placed the thread protector on top of the flash hider threaded end to threaded end and they fit flush--how do yours fit?

Mines flush as well, also the threads look good but maybe they wore a bit from being loose at some point is my only thought.
Yeah, the threads don't look really worn, do they? (if anything, the threads on mine look wonkier!) That's an odd one. Can you contact the previous owner to see if he used it?

Ya they don't look worn and feel nice and sharp to the touch, looking at yours theres a few spots that seem out to lunch! I have contacted the PO and he says it was like that when he got it and never bothered with it as it just ads length.

I know its a small thing but its kinda buggin me!!! I like the look of it on there and want to put it on but cant!!

OK Finally took pics of mine and as u can see the fit is good.

It appears similar to your setup - did you check that you are screwing down all the way ? Maybe the gap on the threads are gummed up and it could need more screwing down ?

Thanks for the help guys I have emailed SFRC to get a door buster but what they say is they are waiting for more because the thread pattern wasn't right on the ones they had gotten in. I bet I some how got a flash hider that has the different thread pattern as that would explain whats going on with mine. Also sendmorebrains thanks for the pics but its not a problem of screwing it all the way on as it just slides over the whole threaded area. Guess I will just have to wait intill some one gets the door buster instock and Ill just throw that on.
Anyone know of of any company that has them instock??

OK so my one buddy wanted one of these optima escort guns and a guy I know was selling one so I picked it up and compared once I had it at home.....

THERES A DIFFERENCE!!!!

Top one in the pic has a higher ser number 308### and there is a different design pattern in the receiver as well as the barrel is 19" to the end of thread cap

Bottom one lower ser number of 271### and the barrel is 20.5" to the end of barrel thread cap --- FLASH HIDER FITS IT PERFECT

So I am guessing there is different versions of this gun released as my thread protector doesn't fit the other one and the two guns have totally different thread patterns.

Anybody know why or whats going on here?

Thanks

Mine looks like the top one--with the unshaded logo. I always thought the barrel looked shorter than 20" but never checked it. My serial number starts with 308 as well.
