Question about pending restricted transfers and expired license

So, like many of you, I sold a handgun (BC to Alberta), and we're both waiting for the transfer to be completed. My RPAL is also set to expire in a week, and my renewal application submitted in August is still pending.

I called the CFC last month and was told that the backlog means my license will likely expire, but "Don't worry, just keep your firearms locked up and there'll be no problem." Great, I guess inability to use my firearms or purchase new firearms/ammunition is "no problem" for the CFC.

What I later realized was that there might be an impact on the pending transfer. First, I'm concerned that by the time the transfer is looked at, my license will have expired, and that the transfer will be further delayed or (worst case) cancelled. Second, if the transfer is approved, will I be able to get an STATT to transport the firearm to the post office? I know I can book a Canada Post pickup to avoid the STATT, so the second issue is not a major concern.

Has anyone had a transfer approved whilst their license was expired?

Gotta love our system...

EDIT #1: pulled this from https://www.ofah.org/firearms/pal-expiry-grace-bill-c-42-common-sense-firearms-act/

During the six month extension or ‘grace’ period, both PAL and RPAL holders whose licences expire after November 30th and who have not renewed cannot use their firearms, cannot acquire any new firearms or purchase ammunition until their licence is renewed, and cannot transfer or register any restricted or prohibited firearms, but are not subject to a criminal charge for illegal possession of firearms and/or ammunition.

EDIT #2: My question is moot as I just got through to the BC CFO, explained my concern, and the agent was able to approve the transfer to AB while I was on the phone. So the restricted transfer is not going to be affected by my license expiration. I'll keep my post up, as I am curious about the specific question of whether transfers can be approved while a license is expired. dogzilla brings up a point that it's probably less of a concern for the seller's license vs. the buyers, but this multi-month backlog really raises some questions that we normally don't need to consider.

I just went through this. I was waiting on a transfer from Aug 14. I sent my Pal renewal (online) Aug 24. My PAL expired in mid-December. I just received transfer approval and PAL approval yesterday. I had talked to CFC and was told that my PAL expiring would not affect my transfer.
