Hi all,
I have a 14" Nork' 870 with a chromed fixed choke bore. I am contemplating a vintage tactical build and was thinking a variable "poly-choke" type choke assembly and flush mag extension might be appealing to my eye and give it some versatility at the same time.
I was wondering how they are/were mounted back in there hay day? I know that the modern offerings screw in like a typical choke tube or are installed by the manufacturer. I'm hoping perhaps the older models were silver soldered or threaded to the exterior of the barrel, something I might be able to duplicate in my lathe without having to do any internal machining of my chromed bore. I'm not set specifically on the poly-choke brand, just that type of variable choke concept.
Thanks
