Question about re-barrel from 270 to 9.3x62

I have gotten 9.3 barrels from McGowan, Pac-Nor, Jury, and from Krieger. Pac-Nor is, of couse, off the table. Any barrel maker will sell an uncontoured blank. I have not gotten a 9.3 from Ron but I'm sure he makes them.

I am looking at getting a Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather in 270 Win re-barrelled to 9.3x62.
Is this a viable option??

I am going to shamelessly follow this thread and your progress. I just picked up an extreme weather in 30-06 and am hoping to turn it in to a 35 Whelen in the near future. Please do let me know if you find someone to rebore yours as that is the route I hope to go as I want to retain the factory barrel. If we were in the states we could send things off to JES Rifle Boring in Oregon.

i did this with a husquvarna 1600 feather weight in 270 , rebarreled it to 9,3x62 improved .
i had to widen out the shoulder area of the feed rails and lengthen the magazine a little .

i also turned the barrel upside down and used the rear sight mount as a recoil lug to reduce the stress on the slender stock

Yes please, I don't know why it's not a standard caliber now. Many would buy this combination.

7600 in 9.3 x 62 would only be POPULAR to about 3 people in a YEAR ! if that ! Great Cartridge WRONG rifle ! lol JMO RJ
