Got a question for you guys. Looks like there's a storm coming through much of Ontario starting tmr. I'm planning on a grouse hunting trip this weekend. Heavy rain is forcasted during the week, but it suppose to taper off a bit for sat. How should my game plan change for this weather? Do I hunt the same area as usual? Longer pause to get them to flush??

Thx

In wet conditions the birds will generally hold longer and not fly as high when they do flush. Something to remember if you are out with a dog or other hunters.

When it is wet keep an eye open for roosting birds. I see a lot more flushes from trees when the ground is wet than when it is dry.

From my experiences and I m not a pro by any means but I have found they hold up higher in big spruce and pine trees, right up tight to the main trunk.
