I've got a Sig 226 Blackwater that came with the plastic grips as well as the wooden ones, but today at the range I had a chance to try out a 226 Legion and really liked the feel of the grips on the gun. Does anyone know if the legion grips would fit on a regular 226 or of an aftermarket grip that would be similar to that of the Sig legion grips?

The Legion use Hogue G10 grips. Any Hogue dealer should be able to get some grips that are similar for you if they don't have them in stock. (Red Deer Shooting Centre has a large selection of G10 grips for the P226, but I have no idea what they have in stock.)

Legion grips, apparently, aren't sold separately...which is too bad because they're really good grips. I had Hogue Piranhas on my P226 Extreme which despite their aggressive name were, to me, the best mix of grippiness and comfort.

On their web site Hogue says that their standard grips for the 226 don't fit the Legion.
Not sure if that means the opposite is also true.

You cannot buy Legion grips separately.

The Legion grips feel thinner than the normal Hogue G10. The Hogues will feel MUCH smaller in comparison to your blackwater grips, and are as close as you're going to get.
