Question about thread protector / very short flash hider

So I'm awaiting the arrival of a dlask 12.5" factory contour barrel for my 10/22.

Being as I want a short light weight rig.... I'm looking for something as short as possible to protect the threads.

I know I could get a thread protector from dlask but not sure if they offer one in the factory contour?
I'm game to use an a2 birdcage, if it's one of them über short ones, I used to have one about an inch long. But no idea where to get another.

I'm open to other ideas as well, any help is appreciated.
 
All A2 flash hiders should be the same length, or they aren't an A2 flash hider. Mine are all 1.75" long, plus whatever the crush washer ends up being. Most are right around 1-7/8" when installed. If you want short and light, the Dlask protector is your best bet or you can get a local machinist to turn one to suit for you.
